Feminine energy is relatively new concept for me. I’ve never been very good at being a girl. I tried for my mom’s sake. She loves make up and diamonds and beautiful clothes. But not me.
My favorite outfit consists of bootcut Wrangler jeans, a soft comfy v-neck tee, and cowboy boots. I don’t even have nails on both hands anymore, because it makes it easier to play guitar.
My Origin Membership
Earlier this year, I took a leap of faith and joined the Origin Membership. I have followed its founder Kate Northrup since I completed the lesson in my health coach training where she was a guest lecturer. Her work really resonated with me.
I purchased her book Do Less when it came out but only sat down to read it when I found myself struggling with some serious emotional burnout. Again… Her work really resonated with me. I found myself drawn to her unique feminine energy.
Shortly after, Kate offered a No Challenge on Facebook, which was just what I needed to get my priorities straight. At the end of the challenge, membership was opened to the Origin Membership.
I didn’t think twice about it. I joined. My only regret is that I didn’t have enough money saved for the annual membership and had to choose the monthly option. It has been worth EVERY PENNY.
What Origin Taught Me
My very first call with my Origin Membership felt like walking into a support group.
Growing up, I was frequently the target of teasing from other girls. (You remember the mean girls, right? 😉 ) I was too smart, dressed funny, etc., etc. Since then, I’ve become a successful IT professional, a health coach, and a successful equestrian among other things.
I joined that first call with a knot in the pit of my stomach, but the room I walked into contained a group of amazing female entrepreneurs who were there to love and support one another and to further the practice of moving with rather than against nature.
I was with my people. 😀
Every day in the Origin Membership reminds me that there are an ever growing number of female entrepreneurs who want to do life differently, who want to do work differently.
These women are bright and capable and work as hard as anyone I’ve ever known, but for them, success is about being free to be you and work and have a life outside of work.
I have balked at $17 a month business memberships, because I just didn’t see the value. I’m paying way more than that for my Origin Membership and actually say a prayer when the money comes out of my bank account each month!
If there’s anything you want to learn, there’s a resource or another member in the Origin Membership ready to teach you.
Finding My Feminine Energy
I’ve only been an Origin member for 4 and a half months, but I’ve already learned so much about who I am and where I’m going. Most importantly, I’ve learned what being feminine means to me and my business.
Using the Do Less Planner and the Daily Energy Tracker have been game changers for me.
I’m learning how my hormone cycle effects my physical energy and mental focus, and I’m learning how to use those to my advantage. I used to see my cycle as a nuisance, but I’m learning to see it as an asset.
By accepting my femininity and using it as an advantage for my business, I’m learning that I can actually accomplish more while doing less. Crazy I know! But totally true!
I’m still a tomboy through and through, but I’m a feminine Wonder Woman kind of tomboy. 😛
